Bylaws of the Committee of Electrolytic Science and Technology of the Electrochemical Society of Japan

Article 1 (Name)
The name of this committee shall be the Committee of Electrolytic Science and Technology of
the Electrochemical Society of Japan
(hereinafter referred to as the “Committee”).
The English name shall be The Committee of Electrolytic Science and Technology, and the
abbreviation shall be CEST.

Article 2 (Nature and Purpose)
The Committee shall be an association of persons from industry, government, and academia who
have an interest in the improvement
and advancement of electrolytic science and technology.
The purpose of the Committee shall be to promote the development of this field through the
mutual exchange of experience and
knowledge among its members.

Article 3 (Activities)
In order to achieve its purpose, the Committee shall carry out the following activities:
(1) Holding discussion meetings;
(2) Holding committee meetings, including research meetings, lectures, study tours, and other
gatherings;

(3) Establishment of subcommittees and similar bodies;
(4) Introduction of literature and distribution of materials;
(5) Any other activities deemed appropriate and consistent with the purpose of the Committee.

Article 4 (Membership)
1. The Committee shall consist of individual members and corporate members.
2. Corporate members shall, in principle, be registered on a per-establishment basis, and each
establishment shall appoint one committee member.
3. Individual members may attend committee meetings together with related persons belonging to
the same organization.
4. Committee members appointed by corporate members may attend committee meetings together
with related persons belonging to the same establishment.

Article 5 (Officers)
The Committee shall have the following officers:
Chairperson (1); Acting Chairperson (1); Vice Chairpersons (several);
Advisors (several); Auditors (several); Standing Committee Members (several);
Planning Committee Members (several); Accounting Auditors (several).

Officers shall be elected by mutual vote of the committee members, and re-election shall not be
prohibited.
The term of office shall be one (1) year for the Chairperson and Acting Chairperson, and two (2)
years for all other officers.
The Acting Chairperson may concurrently serve as a Vice Chairperson.
The term of office may be extended when deemed necessary for the proper operation of the
Committee’s activities.

Article 6 (Membership Fees)
Members shall bear the costs necessary for the operation of the Committee.

Admission Fees:
Corporate Members: JPY 10,000; Individual Members: JPY 1,000.
Annual membership fees:
Corporate Members: JPY 25,000 per organizational unit; Affiliated Corporate Members: JPY 10,000 per affiliated organizational unit.
Individual members: JPY 2,000.
The fiscal year shall commence on January 1 and end on December 31.

Article 7 (Honorary Members)
Members who have made particularly outstanding contributions to the Committee may be
designated as honorary members.

Article 8 (Fund)
A fund may be established in accordance with separately prescribed regulations in order to ensure
the smooth operation of the Committee’s activities.

Article 9 (Amendment and Abolition)
Any amendment to or abolition of these Bylaws shall require a resolution of the General Meeting
and subsequent approval
by the Board of Directors of the Electrochemical Society of Japan.

Supplementary Provisions
These Bylaws constitute the internal regulations of the Committee and shall be interpreted and
applied in accordance with
the Articles of Incorporation and other rules of the Electrochemical Society of Japan.
